Finder sepia-tints successive generations of alias icons

When Finder creates an icon for an alias, it adds a tiny arrow to the bottom-left corner. However, it also slightly tints the resulting icon with a sepia wash. … the icons will gradually get more faded, like a re-photocopied document.
